Digital payments company Paytm on Saturday said it aims to contribute Rs 500 crore to Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES).
For every contribution or any other payment made on Paytm using the wallet, UPI, and Paytm Bank debit card, the company will contribute an extra up to Rs 10, Paytm said in a statement.

Two prominent temple trusts in Maharashtra on Friday donated Rs 51 crore and Rs 2 crore to the government for providing various kinds of reliefs in the ongoing 'war against virus' in the state, the official said.


The Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi (Ahmednagar) announced a donation of Rs.51 crore to the Chief minister's relief fund (CMRF), its CEO Arun Dongre said.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, A.K. Antony, and Shashi Tharoor -- all MPs from Kerala - have allocated funds from their respective MPLADS money to fight coronavirus in their constituencies.

Rahul Gandhi sanctioned Rs 2.66 crore from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme for his Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, Tharoor sanctioned a similar amount for Thiruvananthapuram, as did Rajya Sabha member Antony for his home district Alappuzha.
The BJP has also directed all its MPs to contribute Rs one crore from MPLAD funds in the country's fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

V Balashowry, YSR Congress MP from Machlipatnan has contributed the highest of Rs 4 crore of his MPLAD fund to the Andhra CM Relief Fund. He has also urged all the 28 MPs from Andhra to contribute a similar amount for the cause.

Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav has donated Rs 25 lakh of his MPLAD fund for purchasing sanitizers and masks in Mainpuri. His son and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav app 1 crore out of his MPLAD to be given to Azamgarh Medical College for the purchase of kits for doctors, testing kits, and other items.

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan and union minister Ram Vilas Paswan have contributed Rs 1 crore each from their MPLAD fund. While Chirag contributed for his Jamui Lok Sabha constituency, the senior Paswan has given the money to the health department of Bihar.

Among the other regional parties, two MPs of the Jammu and Kashmir-based National Conference (NC) have donated Rs 1 crore each to their Lok Sabha constituencies. Farooq Abdullah donated to his Srinagar Lok Sabha seat while Hasnain Masoodi donated to Anantnag.

Tech giant Wipro has clarified that news reports and social media posts of Founder Azim Premji donation Rs 50,000 crore are misleading as the charitable contribution was made in March 2019. Yes, Premji, the then chairman of Wipro had earmarked 34 percent of his shares worth Rs 52,750 crore to an endowment under the Azim Premji foundation.

The KKR franchise and his NGO Meer Foundation will work with the Maharashtra and West Bengal governments for the supply of 50,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the healthcare professionals, whom Shah Rukh called the "real heroes" of the battle against COVID-19.

Meer Foundation has also tied up with Ek Saath - The Earth to provide daily food requirements to over 5500 families for at least a month in Mumbai.
Shah Rukh said a kitchen will also be set up to send out 2000 freshly cooked meals every day to help households and hospitals whose daily needs aren't being fulfilled.
In association with Roti Foundation, Shah Rukh's NGO will provide 3 lakh meal kits to 10,000 to underprivileged people and daily wage laborers daily for at least a month in Mumbai.
Meer Foundation has joined hands with Working People's Charter to provide basic essentials and grocery items for at least a month to over 2500 daily wage workers in Delhi.

Now Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has also pledged to provide financial help to 25,000 daily laborers working in the film industry. Due to Corona lockdown, the employment of these workers has been lost, due to which they are facing many problems. Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) President BN Tiwari said that Salman Khan wants to help these workers with his NGO Being Human Foundation. Salman himself has contacted his organization about this.


Many Bollywood celebrities including Karan JoharTaapsee Pannu, and Ayushman Khurana have taken the initiative to help the daily wage laborers affected by the nationwide lockdown.


This initiative, launched by organizations such as I Stand with Humanity, International Association for Human Values, The Art of Living Foundation, and the Indian Film and TV Industry will provide food for 10 days to families of daily wage laborers.


Private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank and its Managing Director Uday Kotak announced a Rs 60-crore donation. The bank will donate Rs 25 crore to PM Cares Fund and Rs 10 crore to Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund, it said in a tweet.


Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) managing director PV Krishna Reddy has donated Rs 5 crore each to the Chief Minister's relief funds of AP and Telangana.


The Sajjan Jindal-led group will provide equipment to healthcare workers and its employees will donate one day's salary.


Anand Mahindra of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group had offered to provide Mahindra resorts as care facilities for those infected. The Mahindra Group is also working on making ventilators for Covid-19 infected patients.


The officials and staff of the Supreme Court registry have decided to donate up to three days' salary to the PM CARES fund.


President Ram Nath Kovind said he will donate a month's salary to the fund to "help the nation tide over the crisis of COVID-19" and appealed to countrymen to donate generously to it.


Six-time world champion boxer MC Mary Kom said she will donate her one month's salary as Rajya Sabha MP, amounting to Rs 1 lakh, to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.


Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and several Union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar, Kiren Rijiju, and Santosh Gangwar were among those who made a similar commitment.


Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said he has donated Rs 1 crore from his MPLADS fund to combat the spread of corona in the country.


TV host and actor Maniesh Paul said he will donate Rs 20 lakh and Murad Khetani, the producer of 2019 blockbuster "Kabir Singh", pledged Rs 25 lakh to PM-CARES and another 25 lakhs to the Maharashtra Relief Fund.


The JSW Group said it will extend the financial assistance of Rs 100 crore to combat the deadly virus.


Engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro announced Rs 150 crore donation to the PM-CARES Fund

It has set aside over Rs 500 crore per month to support about 1.60 lakh contract workers.


Actress Anushka Sharma, her cricketer-husband Virat Kohli, has pledged their support to the PM CARES fund and Maharashtra CM's relief fund. However, they chose not to disclose the amount.


MLAs and MPs of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) have decided to collectively contribute Rs 500 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help the state government fight the rapidly spreading coronavirus outbreak.


To help the state government's efforts against the coronavirus outbreak, the TRS has decided that all its MPs, MLAs, and MLCs will contribute their one-month salary to CM Relief Fund. Besides this, they will also contribute one year's constituency development fund to the CM Relief Fund. The total amount is estimated to be Rs 500 crore.


Each MP gets Rs 5 crore as a constituency development fund every year.


Besides the MPs, TRS MLAs and MLCs also decided to contribute their one month's salary to the CM's Relief Fund.


Like the MP they too will be donating their constituency development funds to the CM Relief Fund. Each MLA/MLC gets Rs 3 crore for the development of their constituencies.
